REGION IV TRANSITION SERVICES COMMITTEE MISSION AND VISION STATEMENTS

The Transition Services Committee is made up of representatives from agencies involved in providing transition services to high school students with disabilities.
The agencies and institutions currently represented on the Committee are: Grand Forks Division of Special Education, Lake Region Special Education, Pembina Special Education, Upper Valley Special Education Unit, Vocational Rehabilitation, Job Service of North Dakota, Developmental Disabilities Program, Protection and Advocacy Project, The ARC, and Disability Support Services at the University of North Dakota.

MISSION - adopted Jan. 3, 2000
The Region IV Transition Services Committee will encourage and actively participate in the networking of agencies, families and students with a mutual commitment and philosophy of successful transition of individuals with disabilities from school to adult life in the least restrictive environment, guided by the student's preferences, interests and strengths.

VISION - adopted Jan. 3, 2000
Individuals with disabilities in Region IV will leave school prepared with skills including self-advocacy and an individualized plan including connections to agencies to make a smooth and successful transition to adult life, at an appropriate level of independence.
